Option Omega vs VolNinja
Option Omega is best known as an options backtester. Its Premium plan adds automation, which runs a backtested strategy live from Option Omega's cloud.
If you trade through Interactive Brokers, that automation is not available to you.

Does Option Omega work with Interactive Brokers?
No. Option Omega's automation trades through tastytrade, Tradier, Schwab (thinkorswim) and TradeStation, and Interactive Brokers is not on the list.
So if your account and your margin treatment are at IBKR, the choice is between moving brokers and using something that talks to the broker you already have. That goes for a named strategy too: if you came to Option Omega to run MEIC, running MEIC at IBKR covers which tools can and how the setup looks.
Option Omega pricing
Automation is only in Premium, at $299.99 a month, or $249.99 a month billed annually, with a 14-day trial. The Lite, Essential and Plus plans ($24.99 to $74.99 a month on annual billing) model and backtest strategies but cannot trade them. VolNinja is one plan: $99 a month, or $990 a year.
Where Option Omega is the better choice
It has a backtester, and its automations are built from backtests. VolNinja does not have one.
It reaches more brokers: tastytrade, Tradier, Schwab and TradeStation against our one. If you are not at IBKR, it can trade your account and we cannot.
It is hosted, so there is nothing to install. VolNinja runs on your own hardware, next to IBKR Gateway or TWS.
Where VolNinja is different
It works with the broker you already use
Your IBKR connection stays on your machine, orders go straight to your own account, and nothing routes through us.
A rule that can see the whole book
If Option Omega added Interactive Brokers tomorrow, this is the difference that would remain.
An Option Omega automation is one backtested strategy. Its entry and exit conditions read the market and the trade in front of it. Its position settings, such as max open trades and allocation per trade, belong to that strategy too. The one control that spans every strategy is Pause All Trading, a switch you flip by hand. Three strategies are three automations that cannot see one another or your account.
A VolNinja strategy reads across all of it. Its rules see your account's figures and your whole book: the day's P&L across every position, total delta and gamma, how many positions are open. Variables can be shared between strategies, and aggregates are computed live over every open position. That is what lets a rule say stop opening condors once the book is down $1,500 today, or close everything once portfolio delta crosses a line.
Every rule, every second
Option Omega checks exits once a minute, the same cadence as its backtests. Its 0-DTE Intra-Minute Stops check stops every second, on SPX and SPY 0DTE only; profit targets, delta exits and underlying exits still wait for the minute unless you rest the target at the broker as a GTC order. VolNinja evaluates every rule every second.
Paper first
Option Omega's automations run on live accounts only. VolNinja connects to your IBKR paper account the same way it connects to a live one, so a new strategy can trade on paper for a week before it trades your money.
Your strategy stays on your machine
Option Omega is hosted, so your strategies live on its servers and run there. That is a reasonable trade for a lot of people and the wrong one for anyone whose edge is the rule set. VolNinja runs on your own hardware, and your rules and trade history never leave it.
A Risk Lab that reads your rules
Option Omega models a strategy's payoff and greeks. The Risk Lab simulates what you are actually holding, live, for a single position or the whole book: chance of profit, expected value, the percentile range of outcomes, and a cone of how that range narrows toward expiry. It also reads the rules you attached, estimating how likely each one is to fire before expiry, and a what-if builder re-runs the simulation with changes you are considering before you make them.
So which one should you use?
Take Option Omega if you are not at IBKR, or if backtesting is what you need most.
Take VolNinja if your account is at Interactive Brokers, which settles it on its own, or if you want automation that reads your whole book, checks every rule every second, and runs on paper before it runs on your money.
With VolNinja your broker connection and your trading data stay on your machine. We never route an order through us; you write the rules and the software executes them in your own account.
